On Hearing the Music Of Ockegham  "Musica Antiqua"           A. J. Heskett

Timeless wonder–heart's lament,
Music's voice bears witness to life's journey,
Droll chords awake senses to memories and possibilities our
Elder brother articulated with notes, and words, four centuries removed.
Such sounds have travelled what roads to reach our heart?
Song as witness, as missive, read to peers, through choirs and harmony,
Offer up a voice in worship to honor, fidelity, faith, and reverance for humanity.
Like the truths of simple design, your gifts have weathered time
To reach us in the quiet reflective moments which echo within.
Oh sir! You shared in lives not yet lived, through the record of your instrument.
